La Comida Guild’s Mission Statement

La Comida Guild raises funds, advocates for children, and promotes goodwill on behalf of Valley Children’s Healthcare.

La Comida Guild, a 501(c)(3) Corporation, began with 29 charter members and has served Valley Children’s Hospital since 1953.  The Guild presented its first Home Tour, Tea & Boutique, in 1954.

La Comida Guild is an extraordinary group of volunteers devoted to supporting Valley Children’s Hospital.

La Comida members prepare their renowned Holiday Home Tour throughout the year.  The week preceding the tour is dedicated to preparing for the event. Our homeowners are known to go all-out in preparing for this event and our members are busy putting the final touches on each area of the home tour, ensuring our guests are treated to one of Fresno’s premier events!

At the Evening Preview at Fort Washington Country Club, guests mingle with homeowners while enjoying a champagne reception, open bar, hors d’oeuvres, and a gourmet dinner. The evening continues with an exclusive self-guided preview of our carefully selected homes.  Because our home tour is held in early December, the selected houses are decorated for the holidays and dazzle at night!

The day tour allows guests to view the homes on their schedule the day after the evening preview. Ticket holders are invited to stop by Fort Washington Country Club to shop our “Sweet and Treats” and grab a complimentary cup of tea or coffee and a delicious sampling of homemade tea cookies and mints. What a perfect way to start the holiday season!

La Comida members meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month, excluding June, July, and August.  If you are enthusiastic about supporting Valley Children’s Hospital and enjoy baking and creating, this is the Guild for you!  For more information on becoming a member, please get in touch with the Guild Office at Valley Children’s Hospital.

All proceeds from the Guilds’ fundraising events benefit Valley Children’s Healthcare’s $5M Endowment goal for the “Guilds Center for Community Health”
